A busy decade has flown by, and Patrick Gallagher Decoratives & Design is now open at a second location near the D&D building in New York City. In addition to his growing business (and the fact that two locations invariably lead to almost twice as much entertaining!) Gallagher has also recently accepted another new honor and responsibility. inveterate student himself, Gallagher is a natural supporter
of design education of all sorts. His trips to England on behalf of the Foundation allow him to get regular doses of European design inspiration and do a bit of shopping for clients while he supports historic preservation and cultural exchange on both sides of the Atlantic. Born in South Bend, Indiana, Gallagher received a degree in Fashion Buying and Merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City in 1975. After a stint in retailing at Bloomingdales, and another in fashion design at a Milanese sportswear firm, Gallagher returned to the United States to turn his design skills to the interior design industry. He headed merchandise promotion at Harris/Kosmas, Ltd. for a time, and then went on to work independently for a broad variety of clients ranging from Laura Ashley, Stowe Davis/Steelcase and Ralph Lauren, to publications like|CLICK TO CONTINUE| |
